Scar's Project
This is Chase Fiedler. He's a tattoo artist based in Fountain Valley. Chase participates in the Scars Project, where people who have self harm scars can get a tattoo to cover it up, free of charge.
He is humble, kind, and pretty funny so his clients stay at ease during the process. It took some time for us to get together because of the content and not wanting to exploit someone in any way but I'm happy we met up when we did.
He didn't ask about what happened or why they chose to hurt themselves, he continuously made them feel comfortable and remained professional. Chase told me he's had clients break down in tears after seeing their tattoos, which I assume comes from them not having to be constantly reminded of those dark times they've been through.
I think he's one of the silent heroes of today and I believe we need more silent heroes. It's these people who touch individual lives that are making a huge impact on this world.
